If you were to tell me one day they’d bring back the classic Muppet Show from 1976-1981, I’d never believe you. If you were to tell me one day I’d actually get to WORK on the 50th anniversary of The Muppet Show I would drop dead. Fortunately I’m alive and I had the extreme privilege of providing Kermit’s banjo track for Sabrina Carpenter’s duet with Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy!
If being involved as the banjo track wasn’t enough- I was thrilled to be invited to set, thanks to Matt Vogel and the Muppets Studios team. I was able to see the set up close and marvel at the dedication and effort they made to every detail. I was able to finally meet many of the Muppet performers I had worked with from a distance/across a zoom feed… On set I met Gonzo himself, Dave Goalz! I also got to visit with Eric Jacobson, Peter Linz, Jennifer Barnhart, Stephanie D’Abruzzo and original Muppet Show performer: Louise Gold!

Then everything leveled up thanks to Muppets writer, Kelly Younger who literally PUSHED me forward to make an on-camera appearance in the studio audience! (Big appreciation to Muppets Studio VP Leigh Slaughter for letting me!) It was a fun moment I never saw coming and made for the experience of a lifetime.

To contribute both musically and, unexpectedly, on camera to the celebration of one of television’s most beloved series is an honor I cherish. As someone who grew up inspired by Jim Henson and his Muppets, being part of this milestone is something I’ll never forget. However, there were two older gentlemen that kept heckling those poor performers… They seriously need to tighten security.
