Henson: The Banjo Connection

Share

A few years back I was fortunate to meet up with Heather Henson, daughter of Jim Henson, when she was in Oklahoma. One thing led to another and I mentioned the American Banjo Museum. She said they had THE banjo that was used on every episode of The Muppet Show and were trying to find a place for it. Fast forward a year or so, and Jim was inducted into the American Banjo Museum HALL OF FAME bringing a full exhibit that features hand drawings, blueprints, video and even Kermit himself!

This project has been incredible to be part of and lead me to a regular position to work more the the museum in community outreach, promotion and developing an educational program (that might include more of the green guy!)

It is so great to see this come to my home state and get to work with Heather and friends like puppeteer/ banjo-extraodinaire: David Stephens and Karen Falk of the Jim Henson Legacy!

Enjoy some highlights and video.
